REGISTER YOUR IRISH COB

The Irish Cob Society Ltd which operates the stud book of origin of the Irish Cob breed, has made provision for owners, in countries outside of Ireland where no daughter stud book exists, to register their Irish Cobs into the Irish Cob Stud Book and to have passports issued in respect of such Irish Cobs.

Registration will be performed based on the registration application form, photographs of the horse and an ID markingsform signed by a veterynary surgeon.

This procedure can be used for Irish Cobs with unknown pedigree as well as for Irish Cobs of which one or both parents are already registered in the Irish Cob Stud Book.

Registration Fee:
Euro 50.00 if the owner of the horse is a member of the Irish Cob Society

Euro 60.00 if the owner of the horse is not a member of the Irish Cob Society

Passports will be issued within 3 weeks after receipt of the registration fee.

How to proceed:

Ask your vet to make the ID markings on the ICS Markingsform, sign and stamp it.

Make four (4) clear colour pictures of the horse (left, right, front, behind)
Fill in the Application for Registration Form,
If the parents of your horse are unknown please find a form to print here (Word doc), here (Acrobat pdf) or here (web page htm)
If one or both parents are registered in ICS use the form here (Word doc), here (Acrobat pdf) or here (web page htm)
Pay the registration fee. We prefer payment by bank, click here for bank account details or look at the bottom of this page
Post the forms and the pictures to The Irish Cob Society Ltd, Longacres, Portrane, Co Dublin, Ireland.
Digital pictures of max. 250 KB can be sent as attachment to the e-mail address below.
Make sure the name of horse and owner are mentioned in the e-mail!

You can inquire about receipt, progress etc. by e-mail at info@irishcobsociety.com
If you cannot print the forms from your computer send us an e-mail with your name and address and the number of horses to be registered,. We will send you the forms by post.
